What is Search Engine Optimisation, SEO ?


Search engine optimisation (SEO) is an organic process to optimise any webpage using various methods, techniques so that it gets listed in a higher position by a search engine.

Let us split the word Search Engine Optimisation into two parts to understand the fine print of the process

    • Search engine is basically a software which answers the users query by showing the most relevant results present on world wide web in shortest possible time
    • Some examples of search engines are Google, Yahoo, Bing, Baidu. Yahoo, Ask, Aol, WOW, Webcrawler, MyWebSearch, Blekko,  Infospace and many more
  1. Optimisation
    • In computing terms, it is a process to aid data retrieval quickly by using various techniques
    • In case of SEO, a webpage is optimised by using 
      • On page optimisation method
      • Off page optimisation method
